A private, on-device study companion for the King James Bible.

Early version — not fully tested. Berean is brand new and still being proven in daily use. Expect rough edges, and check back here for updates — newer builds will replace this download at the same link.

Every verse Berean shows is retrieved word-for-word from a certified KJV text (1611, in the 1769 standard) and re-verified on your device at every launch — the AI discusses and points, but it never writes scripture. 100% offline: the app has no internet permission at all. Nothing you read or ask ever leaves your phone.

Will it run on my phone? Berean carries a full AI model inside, so it asks more of a phone than most apps:

Android phone with a 64-bit processor (any recent Samsung, Pixel, or similar — Android 7 or newer)
8 GB of RAM recommended — 6 GB can work, but below that the AI model will not load
~8 GB of free storage during install (≈5.2 GB stays used after — the download unpacks once)
Snapdragon phones get GPU speed; others run on the CPU — slower, but it works
After the download: fully offline — no account, no internet permission, nothing leaves the phone

The browser version runs the same berean-v0 model on Douft's own server — currently in private beta: email [email protected] for preview access. The app needs no password and runs fully on your phone.
