Since this is your first build, we've added extra detail (especially on thermal paste) and direct shopping links. Take your time, work on a clean non-carpet surface, and consider an anti-static wrist strap. You've got this!
Gently place the Ryzen 7 9800X3D into the AM5 socket. Match the gold triangle on the chip with the triangle on the socket. Then, click your 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5 into slots 2 and 4.
Thermal paste helps transfer heat from the CPU to the cooler. Too little = overheating. Too much = messy (but usually harmless). For your Ryzen 7 9800X3D (square IHS), the easiest and most reliable method for beginners is the pea-sized dot.
Clean the CPU top and cooler base with isopropyl alcohol (90%+) and a lint-free cloth or coffee filter if there's any old paste.
Place a small dot of thermal paste (about the size of a pea or grain of rice) directly in the center of the CPU.
Do NOT spread it manually — the pressure from mounting the cooler will spread it perfectly.
Tip: If your AIO comes with pre-applied paste on the cold plate, you can skip this step (check the manual!).
Work on a clean surface. Less is usually better than more on modern CPUs.
Install the Samsung 990 Evo Plus SSD under the primary M.2 heatsink. Then, mount the NZXT Kraken Elite 360. This "All-in-One" cooler keeps that high-end CPU frosty while looking amazing.
The HYTE Y70 is a showcase case! Mount the motherboard inside and slide in the Corsair RM1000x. Use the vertical riser cable included with the case for that "floating" GPU look.
Install the ASUS ROG Strix 4080 vertically. Because this is a high-power card, the power cable (12VHPWR) MUST be pushed in until it clicks. If you see a gap, it's not safe!
Ensure the cable is not bent sharply right at the connector!
